TECHNICAL SPESIFICATION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PREFABRİCATED UZAY SİSTEM®
SPACE FRAME SYSTEM
Prefabricated members of UZAY SİSTEM® are manufactured in our factory in a way to make the assembly quick and easy on site. The system are made of node elements which are called spheres and members are called pipes.
1- UZAY SİSTEM® Nodes:
UZAY SİSTEM® nodes are the elements that connects the pipes each other with this spherical shaped and they are shaped either on a lathe or by hot rolled iron technique. Maximun 18 bolts holes can be drilled on the surface of UZAY SİSTEM® spheres when necessary. UZAY SİSTEM® pipes are screwed to the nodes through the bolt holes. UZAY SİSTEM® nodes are manufac tured at temperature specified in DIN 17200. Space frame systems the node elements utilized at supports are produced using ST 52(fyield=353 Mpa) or ST 60(fiyeld= 33 Mpa) quality steel.
2- UZAY SİSTEM® Members:
Space frame system members are pipes at the both ends of which a conic shaped pieces are for transferring the comperession or tensile forces to the pipes. UZAY SİSTEM® pipes and the conics are either ST 33 (fyield=186 Mpa), ST 37 (fyield=235 Mpa) or ST 52. UZAY SİSTEM® material quality is convenient with the norms set by DIN 17100 stsandars.DIN 4100 and DIN 4115 standars are followed in the welding process of conics to pipes.
In UZAY SİSTEM® drawings, using materials technical properties are defined as.(i.E ST 33-1,ST 60,3*3*65*2484)
3- UZAY SİSTEM® Bolts,Nuts and pins:
Space Frame system bolts are inserted to the conics and the bolt heads can rotate freely. In between the conic and the node, there is a hexagonal nut. UZAY SİSTEM® bolts have a pin hole on their faces and they are pinned to the bolts throgh the pin hole on the shank of the the bolt.
Space frame sytems bolts are ISO threaded bolts in accaordance with DIN 13 and they meet the standards of DIN267. The mechanical properties of the UZAY SİSTEM® bolts,nuts and the pins are illustrated below:
Space frame system bolts are marked in order to indicate their properties.
Assembly:
All Space frame members are assembled to their holes facing down. Space frame systems while the members are being fastened to nodes, attention should be given not to damge the boldy threads.
UZAY SİSTEM® bolts are scerewed into the spheres by rotating the nuts. Space trusses erection can be made on the ground or in the air,on scaffolds.
Protection Against Corrossion:
UZAY SİSTEM® members, as a first step, are cleaned from rust and oil stains using special paints. The innerface of the pipes are painted with a furnace paint as coating and outerface is painted by powder polyester furnace paint. Than the pipes are furnaced.
UZAY SİSTEM® nuts and some accessories are covered by hot dipping galvanizing process and centrifuged in order to achieve appropriate cover thickness. since by hot dipping galvanization even the tiniest holes are filled,a protection for about 20 years is achieved.This protection duration can be inceased by applying additional cover.
The galvanization of UZAY SİSTEM® purlins, columns etc.can not sometimes be realized by hot dipping method. In this cases spray galvanizination is applied instead of hot dipping process wet paint, meeting the standards requirements is used instead of powdered paint.
Powdered Paint:
After galvanizing the members of space frames shperes and bolts,they are painted by high quality plastic powder paint.
In the cover process of Space frame systems members, polyester powder containing carboxyl is sprayed to the galvanized pipes without adding any additives .This powdered paint is hardened in a furnace a at 200 c. At the end of this process, a 80 microns thick, smooth and shing film layer paint is obtained.The color of the paint can be selected from RAL catologue. All colors at varios tones can be provided.
UZAY SİSTEM® nuts are covered like the other elements, but since nuts undergo high streses,before the powdered paint application and after galvanization, they are first immersed in hot astra (like hot phosphatin)and then painted.
Space frame systems electrostatic powder paint is resistant to impacts and hence it has a longer lifetime than the ordinary paints. This paint is also resistant to temperatures betwen-35 c and+280 and to ultraviolet radiation. Besides it’s enduring to the wearing effects and no bubles,imperfections and stains form on it.
Space frame systems pieces that are not powdered paint can be painted by wet paint,mutually agreeing with the client. In UZAY SİSTEM® wet paint will be applied to have 30-40 microns dry film thhickness. It can be applied in just one layer or more than one layer.
UZAY SİSTEM® bolts are covered by 20 micron electron galvanize.Sphers are covered by 20 micron electron galvanize.
Space sytems as columns and belts st 37-2 quality steel as described in DIN 17100 is utilized.
Space Frame Systems
in a plane truss system the members meet in the gusset plate where the nodes are forming a plane surface. In the case of meeting three dimensional members in different planes,a new system created called Space sytems
Althogh the tradtional welding is quiete common to tie-up the nodes,with the use of special node components made up with special materialsbrings prefabrication to the node-connecting sytem which means quality and time gain in the work. These systems in different shapes and forms are highly under use for more than 35 years in many countiries.In such systmes,the space girder should be arranged when the larger span extends to one direction. In the case,it is in the both directions,then the space frame system .
Space fame systems could be seleced cylinderical and spherical forms also can be arranged and desingned in’the space frame sytem. Space frame sytems bring great desingn comfort,form selections and technical advantages in steel construction with the large spans to one direction or to both directions.Presently, in bridging the large spans using reinforced,pre-stressed reinforced concrete or classical steel sytems are loosing ground in favor of space frame system
UZAY SİSTEM® with Home product materials is capable to bridge the spans up to 100 meters inSpace systems as factory,industrail plant ware house,airplane hangar ,swimming pool,sport hall,Office building,petrol station,television tower,work shop, theatre or other projects.
In the mean time UZAY SİSTEM® gets quite a good number of demand for stadium tribunesand exhibition stands.
UZAY SİSTEM® system consits of two elements:The nodes and the pipe members.The production and the erection is fully pre-fabricated because the nodes and the pipe members are fabricated and transported to long distances to the sites without any loss.
Space sytems the only thing to do in the site is to apply it according to the Project.
THE ECONOMİCAL AND VARIOUS ADVANTADGES OF THE SPACE FRAME TO THE OTHER SYSTEMS
1-Space sytmes are there dimensional and very rigid systems. Therefore,large spans could be arranged in lower heights.This makes the volume smaller that brings ecnomy in heating and the running costs.
2- Space frame systems can be arrange in both directions this makes possible to cancel the mid columns giving advantages such as more room less foundation and earth-moving.
3- Cantilever up to 15 meters or more can be arrange dependig upon structure.
4- Fewer man-power in production and site work.
5 - Using Space frame system various forms and slopings can be applied as one or two direction sloped roofs,spherical roofs etc.
6- Ventilation,air conditioner ducts, electrical installations etc. Can run through ‘’ Space Frame Systems ‘’ as well as sky lighting can be obtained fully or partially
7- Space Frame Systems can be covered by all types of roofing elements and the application of false ceilings to the sytem is fairly easy.
8-As per temperature changes Space truss is more flexible compering to the other sytems.The member lenght differences are very little within the system therefore the displacements due to the temperature changes becomes accordingly. All the wind, snow and earthquake loads were taken and self weight and displacement of the sytem due to the temperature is considered.
